Recent work (2010-present)
Kaif's first release of 2010 was Prakash Jha's political thriller Raajneeti, where she appeared opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The film was a modern-day adaptation of The Mahabharataset against the political backdrop of Delhi. Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpai and Shruti Seth also played starring roles. Upon release, the film performed extremely well at the box office, and earned Kaif favourable reviews for her portrayal of the dynamic Indu Sakseria.[46] A sequel of Rajneeti is expected to show Katrina Kaif as the queen sized politician. However Ranbir Kapoor would not be a part of the sequel.[47]
Her final release that year was Farah Khan's brainless comedy Tees Maar Khan with Akshay Kumar.[48] Despite receiving unanimous negative reviews from critics and audiences alike, the film was a moderate success at the box office, receiving "Semi Hit" status by Box Office India.[49] However, Kaif's item number Sheila Ki Jawani became a major chartbuster.[50]
In 2011, she was seen alongside Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin in Zoya Akhtar's dramedy Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,[51] which emerged as a major critical and commercial success. Kaif was praised for her portrayal of a fun-loving diving instructor Laila. Taran Adarsh wrote, "Katrina is a revelation...the actress continues to surprise you with her performances in film after film."[52] She next featured in Yash Raj Films' comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan opposite Imran Khan and Ali Zafar.[53] The film was successful at the box office, and earned Kaif positive notice for her portrayal of vivacious punk-rock girl Dimple Dixit, with Rahul Gangwani saying "the film ultimately belongs to Katrina Kaif. She sparkles, sizzles and infuses energy into the film."[54] Consequently, she received her second Filmfare nomination in the Best Actress category.
Kaif's first release of 2012 was Kabir Khan's spy thriller Ek Tha Tiger opposite ex-boyfriend Salman Khan. The film opened on 15 August 2012, broke many records and was a huge success commercially. Kaif's second release of 2012 was Yash Chopra's romance Jab Tak Hai Jaan alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. As of August 2012, Kaif is set to appear in two high-profile productions; Vijay Krishna Acharya's adventure film Dhoom 3 alongside Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra and Siddharth Anand's Bang Bang opposite Hrithik Roshan.
Voice dubbing
It should be noted that due to her poor knowledge of Hindi (and other Indian languages), Kaif's voice was often dubbed by dubbing artists such as Mona Ghosh Shetty.[55] However, with the exception of De Dana Dan she has used her own voice for all of her films since New York. Earlier, she had dubbed for films like Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng.[56]
Brand endorsements
In the year 2002, Katrina Kaif was chosen as Coca-Cola's brand ambassador in Tamil Nadu along with Tamil leading actor Vijay. The Coca-Cola advertisement was popular in Tamil Nadu, with Katrina Kaif and Vijay dancing to a Tamil song called "Gullu Gullu".[57] She has also worked for several skin products companies, particularly Veet, as well as several multi-national brands, such as Panasonic.[58] Katrina is now the brand ambassador of the national airline of the United Arab Emirates – Etihad Airways.[59]

Hrithik, Kat are 'Most Desirable'

And the winners (in correct order of ranking) are: the hotly desirable Hrithik Roshan – with his Greek God looks – who sits at the top spot for men; and Katrina Kaif's sway to Sheila that catapulted her to No 1 on the women's list, for a second consecutive year, which has never happened in the past. No surprises really, or were there?
The Men's list has the superb-looking superstar and braveheart of Bollywood, Salman Khan, at No 2 – a stunning climb-up post Dabbang; he's followed by Ranbir Kapoor (last year's winner) at No 3. Shahid Kapoor makes it to No 4 for his sheer boyish appeal and his bare act in Kaminey, while hunky John (the 2008 winner) comes in at 5. Beating out Shah Rukh (6), Akshay Kumar (7), Arjun Rampal (8), Imran Khan (9) and Saif Ali Khan in the Top 10 slots.
For the Women, the eternally lovely Aishwarya Rai Bachchan beats off hot competition to make it to No 2. Priyanka Chopra is at 3 while Deepika and Kareena follow at 4 and 5 respectively. At 6 is the vivacious and hotly desired Genelia D'Souza, followed by the well-styled Sonam Kapoor (7), Bipasha (8), Kangna (9) and the newly crowned Miss Earth Nicole Faria closing out the Top 10 women.
Not too many surprises in the Top 10s, but the 50 sees some surprise entries. While beauty and power polls could remain unchanged for years, the 'Desired' and the Desirability Quotient (DQ) changes radically. Something like Yana Gupta's 'No Panty' act. Or Ranveer Singh winning hearts with Band Baja Baraat; Sonakshi's sizzle in Dabangg; Malaika's Munni ... holding more sway than even bigger stars who may not have done much in the past year to add to their DQ. Which is why ... await some surprises..
Read on and catch all the sensational action, with the stars and their cliques reacting in a never-seen-before TV show – a five hour, back-to-back stack-up of all the 50 Men and 50 Women from 2 to 7 pm tonight – only on zoOm. The curtain has been raised — witness the grand finale of The Times 50 Most Desirable Men and 50 Most Desirable Women 2010.
